Intro to retreat | “Out Through The Heads”
Before we head for open water, we pause for a bit — this is your moment to arrive and sink into a creative start and ground ourselves for the week ahead. With paint and pens we'll spend some time floating on the water that got us here, before we look at the waves ahead and dream of what's to come.

Take a breath. Get grounded. Get creative. Be ready! It won't be long before we venture out through the heads and into the surf.

Open session for anyone at Forster — partners and young ones welcome!

Session 1 | “Why We're Doing This”*
Last year we introduced the Enneagram, discovered our own types, and started using it to understand each other. It stuck — and it changed how this team talks about itself. This year we go a layer deeper, turning the tool on the team rather than only on the individual.

Knowing Yourself, Deeper
  • The arrows: how your type shifts under strain, and the direction that helps you grow.
  • Your coping style when you don't get your way — and why the styles that irritate you are also coping.
  • One signal you can learn to catch in yourself, in the moment.

Session 2 | “Why We're Doing This” (cont.)
Knowing The Team
  • How each of us goes about getting what we need in a room, and why silence isn't the same as agreement.
  • Listening panels: small groups describe, in their own words, what it's actually like to be them. Everyone else listens.
  • What our team currently does brilliantly, what it can't yet do — and who will carry it.
What we'll leave with
  • A clearer read on yourself under pressure, and one practice to move the other way.
  • At least one colleague you understand differently than you did that morning.
  • Three to five team agreements, written down, with names against them.

Session 3 | “Authentic Facilitation”
If you've ever felt exhausted by a workshop, bewildered by the responses of people in a meeting, or stressed that you didn't get the outcomes you needed to deliver the project — this session is for you. Great facilitation is an act of hospitality: curating a space and atmosphere for a purpose.

What we'll leave with
  • A better understanding of your own facilitation style and its impact on others.
  • Different roles required depending on the purpose and desired outcomes.
  • Practical ways to manage yourself, your energy, and develop your 'executive presence'.
  • Sharper skills in reading the room, managing conflict, power dynamics, active listening.

* Two things to do before we meet:
• New to the Enneagram? Take the questionnaire sent via truity.com (10–15 mins). Save your result.
• Done it last year? Dig out your report and re-read it — focus on the 'Under stress' and 'On teams' sections.
• Then read the refresher that comes with this note — it's a ten-minute read.

Team Photos and Video Project
You'll rotate through two stations:
  • 1. Leadership headshots with Wes — a new suite of professional headshots for use across our website, LinkedIn, proposals, presentations and other marketing collateral, giving us a consistent set of imagery across the leadership team.
  • 2. Leadership profile videos — a short, relaxed piece to camera to help introduce the people behind Wild Hive and build a library of authentic content for the website, recruitment campaigns, social media and future marketing.
What you'll be asked (keep it conversational, no script needed):
  • Who are you?
  • What is your role at WildHive?
  • What are you most passionate about in your role?
  • If you're embedded with a client, what do you enjoy most about working alongside them?
What to wear: something you feel comfortable and confident in. Choose colours that suit you and keep outfits fairly simple — busy or heavily patterned prints can be distracting on camera and date more quickly. If you're unsure, a plain shirt, blouse or knit in a colour you love is always a great option. Hair and makeup are entirely up to you, but feel free to freshen up beforehand since these headshots will be used across a range of Wild Hive marketing materials.

Most importantly, don't stress — this isn't about being perfect. It's about capturing the incredible people behind Wild Hive in a genuine and approachable way.
